Who We Are
We are a robust creative collective built to champion the D.C. community through culture content, events and programming.
We are crafting a living, breathing love letter to the District that extends far beyond the written word to tangible experiences and placemaking within the community.
Our team is building a cohesive cultural narrative by weaving together diverse editorial content, events and programming to connect locals and share their stories.
To quote our eponymous sonic anthem, the inclusive voice in our heads and our mantra for where D.C. is heading next, “Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side.”
Experience
Our team includes several dozen core contributors and collaborators, and an extended network of 100+ bold and brilliant freelance writers, photographers, designers and artists.
Wild Side Media’s founder and CEO drew together the immense talent they’ve worked with over the past 15+ years in local arts & culture journalism to build our collective as a mirror of the District’s vibrant creative community.

Audience
Every piece of content, community activation and curated experience we create is designed with inclusivity and authenticity in mind.
As a women- and queer-led media company, our top priority is always to highlight underrepresented communities in the District.
We invite locals to dig deeper and expand their view of what D.C. has to offer and who is making a lasting impact on our creative scene.
Our creative collective is a safe space for everyone in the local community, with a strong focus on eclectic, diverse programming to push the envelope on meaningful dialogue and connection in the city.
Collaborators
We are deeply proud of our collaborations with remarkable local talent. From renowned artists committed to sharing the impact of public art on civic engagement to small business owners who put women and LGBTQIA+ rights at the forefront of their work, we are inspired daily by our Wild Side collaborators. Here are some of the many fabulous local organizations, businesses and collectives we have been honored to support and work with to make meaningful change in D.C.

Partners
In the last 15 years, Wild Side Media’s leadership has cultivated countless valuable creative partnerships with some of the city’s most lauded cultural institutions, rapidly growing Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), and progressive art spaces incubating local talent — among many other impactful D.C. entities. We bring the strength of these core relationships to our current creative collective, working together with our Wild Side partners to reimagine the city’s culture through the lens of our audience: the real D.C. Here is a glimpse of some of our core partners in the District.
